Tuesday Weigh In

Well, the scales have not been good to me this week. And it's of my own doing. So, we shall get down to brass tacks, I suppose.

Last Week's Weight: 222.8

This Week: 226

+ 3.2 lbs

Yup. Pretty much what I expected. I didn't really care about my food intake versus exercise output. I didn't make an effort to go to the gym as much as I should have, and my sleep was very erratic.

So, let's look at the goals I set last week:

* Do my pilates DVD 3 days
* Drink 60oz water per day
* No "extra" sweets of any kind: candies, ice cream, cereal!, sugar in my coffee (splenda in my tea ok though)
* Go to at least 1 spin class
* Catch up on my Bio Science homework


Well, 2 out of 5. Disappointing for sure. I'm trying to figure out a way to keep my goals more visual. Honestly, I forgot I even put the spin class on my goal list, which can be why I didn't go.

My Pilates DVD sat untouched. I just didn't make the effort.

As for the "extra" sweets? Well, that goal was a reverse psychology move on my part I think. I had more candy than I had in weeks prior.We had some candy in the pantry that John decided needed to be on the counter. Well, when I see it, I eat it. So that's what happened.

Zero accountability on my part. I knew I shouldn't have eaten it, but I did. And so I have to make up for it and drop those pounds and get back on track.

So, my goals for this week......

* Do Pilates DVD 2 days
* Go to 1 spin class
* Eat 1 apple a day (to keep the bad snacking away!)
* Get John to join me in some form of activity (baseball, a walk, etc)
* Drink 3 glasses of fruit-infused water (which I'm NOT a fan of)



These are manageable. I have created a cute little notebook that I keep with me wherever I am and have written my goals down. I've looked into my work schedule for the week and tried to "plan" my goals into the days so that I don't make the excuse of "not having time".

I'm looking forward to Amy's post.... She said she had to bake for a fundraiser and I need some food porn!! :-P

Tuesday Weigh In

So, I promised Amy that I would start weighing in once a week and blogging with her on Tuesdays. She doesn't blog until the night time, but I will end up doing mine some time during the day.

So, I weighed myself a few times last week to get a baseline weight.

Starting weight: 225.

Ouch. At one point late last year I was closer to 205, so I have gained some back and I can especially tell in my pants. Wearing a 16 is no longer as comfortable as it once was, I should probably be going back to a 16W or even an 18. But, I am determined to drop the weight and keep it off once more!

So, how did today go? Bright and early at 6 AM I crawled my tired ass out of bed and weighed in. After peeing of course! (TMI? lol)

This week's weight: 222.8

Loss of 1.2lbs.

Woohoo! A loss! That's about all I have energy-wise to muster for this week. It has been a long week already and it's only Tuesday, and I'm rushing to finish this so I can try and catch up on some homework I need to get done!

Goals for this week:

I think I have some realistic goals. I have fitness goals, but also homework goals, which are just as important.

I'd also like to start video-ing me doing some of the zumba routines from my Sunday/Tuesday classes. The reason being: Johnny hasn't had enough people coming to the Tuesday night so he has officially cancelled that class. And I cried. It sucks. A handful of us are loyal, but financially it doesn't make sense for him to continue on. At least I still have Sundays though! But I'd like to record me doing them so I don't forget, AND I can do a class by myself at any time, and will have video to refer back to if I forget a move!

Road Trip Review : February 2014

- The distance from home to Crowley’s Ridge State Park in Arkansas is 849 miles.
- The distance from Crowley’s Ridge to Devil’s Den State Park (also AK) is 215 miles.
- For a total of 1,064 miles.
- Our challenge runs January 1st thru October 31st, which is 304 days.
- This means I need to walk 3.5 miles per day to hit my goal!
- Of that 3.5 miles, only half, or 1.75 miles, can come from NORMAL every day walking.


The Road So Far....



January Totals:


Goal: 108.5 miles
My Distance: 79.79 miles


Deficit: -28.71 miles



This leads me into February. How did I do?


February’s Goal: 98.00 miles
My Distance: 88.16 miles


Deficit: -9.84 miles



My total two month deficit: -38.55 miles





I am disappointed to say the least. I felt like I had a good month fitness-wise, I made some good choices and got to the gym at times where I could have been other places doing other things. Adding to the fact that I am 30 miles behind from January, it is tough to see that in February I failed again. And I had some very good days. I had at least 7 days where I doubled or tripled my daily goal. So how did I fail? Well, at the beginning of the month, I was in TN, where a gym was unavailable for me... but I tried to at least get out and get some distance in during that trip. For the rest of the month, there is no excuse. Today marks a new month. I'm going to kick March's ass!

Amy has been a busy little bee this month. Not only is she heading our Pinterest Challenge group, but she's also been losing weight like a madwoman and occasionally needing a kick in the ass to keep her in line (yeah, that's right, I totally called you out on my blog little lady!)
